Other Eyes

I had a couple of guest photographers help me with this post.

This weekend was cold cold cold, but getting at least a little bit of snow made it worth it.

Apples gone bye bye

IMG_3275

Hennie figured out how tasty snow is

IMG_3282

And he’ll go to any length to get it.

We had some fun visitors come up to play, too.

Aaaand…at this point, Charlie took the camera and went to town

He did an outstanding job! Here we’ve migrated to Tangletown Gardens

I asked him to take this one

IMG_3348

He wanted me to take this one of him

IMG_3314

And then I took a couple more

IMG_3317IMG_3318IMG_3321

And then it was Henry’s turn!

There’s nothing like being able to actually see how your kid is processing the world.

And to end, a glorious image that makes me very happy. Sarah, Jake and I went to a memorial fundraising event. One of my favorite moments of the evening was when Jake learned of the presence of a photo booth. I can’t remember his exact words, but the sentiment was that if there’s a photo booth at an event, and you choose not to make use of it, you should re-evaluate your life decisions.

Fall

The last several weekends have been extremely fulfilling. My brother and sister-in-law came up to Minnesota while the rest of my family was out of town. We got some rare quality time amongst just the three of us. Unfortunately, I neglected to take any pics of us together or the beautiful new baby their friends introduced to the world a few months ago.

I did manage to get some shots of some other people who’ve stopped by. Here, the boys are enjoying the wonderful world of snapchat with Katy

Jack and Tina stayed for a long weekend, too!

Spectacle-thickness comparison. Charlie’s are waaay thicker

We missed a family dinner night, so the kids all got together to have a sunday brunch instead. Even the dogs had a great time

Pear!

“Protecting” Hennie from the dogs. Though they were so wrapped up in each other they had no idea anyone else was around.

Happy Halloween!

IMG_3251

Henry always gets excited about a costume, but then doesn’t want to wear it to go out trick-or-treating. See above. Charlie, on the other hand, has got this thing down

IMG_3252

He’s a wizard, Henry’s a chef. I made the wizard’s hat and chef’s apron, btw, and I’m quite proud.

IMG_3255

Stopping in to visit with the neighbors is a yearly tradition.

IMG_3257

But then we head across the bridge to Halloween Heaven

IMG_3261

Once Henry saw all the decorations and bonfires, he perked right up and was ready to go. And go and go and go!

IMG_3262

After all our trick-or-treating, Charlie decided to split his one allowed piece of candy for the night with Katy. It was a Butterfinger, after all

Last weekend, the Novak women and I went to Wisconsin for a weekend away. I mean almost allll the Novak women.

It was an awesome time of relaxation and silliness. The highlight was definitely the haunted cave Jane convinced everyone to go through!
