The last several weekends have been extremely fulfilling. My brother and sister-in-law came up to Minnesota while the rest of my family was out of town. We got some rare quality time amongst just the three of us. Unfortunately, I neglected to take any pics of us together or the beautiful new baby their friends introduced to the world a few months ago.
I did manage to get some shots of some other people who’ve stopped by. Here, the boys are enjoying the wonderful world of snapchat with Katy
Jack and Tina stayed for a long weekend, too!
Spectacle-thickness comparison. Charlie’s are waaay thicker
We missed a family dinner night, so the kids all got together to have a sunday brunch instead. Even the dogs had a great time
Henry and Charlie built bridges
Dog Dads doing some forced calm time for the pups.
Oh hey!
Katy’s got the actual best backyard
Pear!
“Protecting” Hennie from the dogs. Though they were so wrapped up in each other they had no idea anyone else was around.
Happy Halloween!
Henry always gets excited about a costume, but then doesn’t want to wear it to go out trick-or-treating. See above. Charlie, on the other hand, has got this thing down
He’s a wizard, Henry’s a chef. I made the wizard’s hat and chef’s apron, btw, and I’m quite proud.
Stopping in to visit with the neighbors is a yearly tradition.
But then we head across the bridge to Halloween Heaven
Once Henry saw all the decorations and bonfires, he perked right up and was ready to go. And go and go and go!
After all our trick-or-treating, Charlie decided to split his one allowed piece of candy for the night with Katy. It was a Butterfinger, after all

Last weekend, the Novak women and I went to Wisconsin for a weekend away. I mean almost allll the Novak women.
It was an awesome time of relaxation and silliness. The highlight was definitely the haunted cave Jane convinced everyone to go through!
I want to go through a haunted cave! That sounds awesome!
I see Hennie still doesn’t like his picture taken and he’s so darn cute!!!
